Job Description
An experienced Childrens Advanced Practitioner is required by Lincolnshire County Council, based at 46 Union Street, Grantham (NG31 6NZ) with free on-site parking. This is a locum role paying £29.51–£40.00 per hour, available from 15 June 2026.
You will hold a caseload spanning the full continuum from referral through to closure, covering Child in Need, Child Protection, and Care Proceedings — with no change of social worker throughout. Responsibilities include completing assessments of children and families where safeguarding concerns have been raised, supporting children subject to CP and CIN plans, and compiling court reports for both private and public law proceedings, including Section 47 investigations.
The team covers the whole of South Kesteven District — Grantham and a large surrounding rural area — and operates a four-weekly duty rota. During your one duty week you are expected to be office-based five days, picking up new referrals and undertaking initial visits; the remaining weeks allow greater flexibility.
Essential: qualified social worker registered with Social Work England, minimum three years post-qualifying experience in a permanent, front-line safeguarding role, and demonstrated experience of Section 47 investigations.
