Childrens Advanced Practitioner – Pre-Birth Team – #5297345
Job Description
An experienced Childrens Advanced Practitioner is required for the Pre-Birth Team at North Tyneside Council, based at Quadrant East, Wallsend (NE27 0BY). The rate is £34.45 per hour, with a start date of 8 June 2026.
This is a key role delivering high-quality pre-birth intervention work, using the Signs of Safety approach to support families and safeguard children. You will work with parents from the point of referral through the pre-birth and post-natal period, leading on complex cases to ensure best practice and positive outcomes for families across North Tyneside.
Key responsibilities include managing cases under Child in Need Plans, Child Protection Plans, and Children in Our Care, as well as supporting children until final plans are agreed — which may include permanency plans outside the family such as long-term fostering and adoption.
Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification, be registered with Social Work England, and have a minimum of four years’ statutory social work experience. Direct experience working with children and families across CIN, CP, and CIOC frameworks is essential. Experience of pre-birth work and familiarity with the Signs of Safety model are highly desirable.
