Job Description

Durham County Council are seeking a qualified Childrens Advanced Practitioner (Social Work Consultant) to cover a maternity leave secondment based at Annfield Plain Greencroft Offices, Stanley, DH9 7BF.

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Families First Disabilities Team, working alongside the Team Manager to provide professional leadership and quality assurance across the service. The role centres on the development of Social Workers through group supervision and reflective practice, alongside direct supervision of Family Workers within the team.

Key responsibilities include providing group and individual supervision to Social Workers, supervising Family Workers, supporting quality assurance activity, and working in close partnership with the Team Manager to maintain high standards of practice.

Candidates must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Prior experience in an advanced practitioner, consultant, or senior practitioner capacity within a children’s disabilities or children and families setting is highly desirable.
