Job Description

Join a children’s social care service on an exciting improvement journey following a recent Ofsted inspection. Knowsley Council is investing significantly in its Children’s Social Care (CSC) department, and this is a genuine opportunity to help shape the future of children’s services whilst working alongside a new, ambitious leadership team that is committed to making a real difference for children, young people, and their families.

As an Advanced Practitioner, you will bring considerable frontline experience to a supportive, inclusive team environment. You will hold and manage complex cases involving children and young people, providing practice leadership and mentoring to colleagues, whilst maintaining high standards of assessment and intervention. Manageable caseloads and flexible hybrid working are actively promoted.

The service is one of Knowsley Council’s highest priorities, with significant investment, expert support, and genuine opportunities to influence practice improvement at all levels.

The successful candidate will be registered with Social Work England, experienced across children’s social care, and committed to continuous professional development. You will be an excellent communicator who builds effective relationships quickly with children, families, and multi-agency partners.

The role is based at Nutgrove Villa, Huyton, Merseyside (L36 6GA), with hybrid working available. The rate is £30.00–£39.45 per hour via Prism, with a start date of 29 May 2026.
