Job Description

Achieving for Children is seeking a Business Support Officer to join its Workforce Development Service, based at the Twickenham Training Centre (53 Grimwood Road, TW1 1BY). This is a temporary role paying £16.00–£20.75 per hour, starting 1 June 2026.

The Workforce Development Service leads on learning, development, and organisational development for Achieving for Children, managing HR contracts and workforce capability across children’s services. As Business Support Officer, you will promote and support the training centre, ensuring that training events, meetings, and conferences run to the highest standards. You will liaise with a wide range of internal and external professionals, design engaging content for promotional emails, social media, and web pages, and provide administrative support to the Workforce Development leads. You will also work alongside the Events, Training and Facilities Manager to oversee building maintenance for the centre.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a business support or administrative role, strong customer service skills (face-to-face and written), and the ability to maintain accurate manual and electronic records including confidential files. You should be confident collating statistical information and reports, have some project management support experience, and be comfortable creating promotional digital content. Previous experience in a public sector education or children’s services environment is desirable. GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English is required.

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, digital literacy (Microsoft or Google suite), and a collaborative, flexible approach are essential.
