Job Description
Manchester City Council is seeking a qualified Adults Social Worker to join the Adult Social Care (ASC) Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) & Early Help and Targeted Support Team, based at Alexandra House, Moss Side, Manchester. This is a temporary role running from 28 September to 13 October 2026 at £30 per hour.
Deployed via the Manchester Local Care Organisation (MLCO), you will work within a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary team alongside Police, Health, and partner agencies to receive and triage new contacts ranging from advice and guidance through to safeguarding concerns. Using a strengths-based conversation model, you will make every contact count — enabling adults to exercise choice and control, maintain independence, and mitigate avoidable risk or harm.
Key responsibilities include completing proportionate assessments, developing person-centred packages, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and maintaining accurate statutory records. You will also support integration of the MASH with the Early Help workstream of the Better Outcomes Better Lives (BOBL) transformation programme.
Essential requirements: a recognised social work qualification, current registration with Social Work England, a minimum of three years’ post-qualifying experience, satisfactory references with employment gaps accounted for, and consent to an enhanced DBS check. A willingness to travel across Manchester is required.
If you are an experienced adults social worker with MASH or safeguarding experience, please get in touch.
