Job Description

Powys County Council is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join their adult social care team based at County Hall, Llandrindod Wells, Powys (LD1 5LG). This is a locum opportunity paying between £29.22 and £38.28 per hour, commencing 3 August 2026 with no confirmed end date.

Powys is a large, predominantly rural local authority covering a wide geographic area of mid-Wales, including towns such as Brecon, Builth Wells, Knighton, Llanidloes, Newtown, Rhayader, and Welshpool. Candidates should be comfortable working across a dispersed area and be prepared to travel within the county.

To be considered, you must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England (or Social Care Wales). Previous experience in adult social care is essential.
