Job Description

Liverpool City Council is seeking a Reablement Assistant to join the Intermediate Care and Reablement service at Townsend Hub, a 35-bed reablement unit in central Liverpool. The role focuses on supporting individuals to improve and retain their independence through person-centred planning and enablement.

Working flexibly across a 7-day rota between 8am and 10pm, you will deliver hands-on support to service users in line with agreed care and support plans. Key responsibilities include assisting with daily living skills such as kitchen tasks, household maintenance, and personal care; administering medication where required; participating in assessments and reviews; and working alongside allied health and social care professionals to minimise risk and enable individuals to remain in their own homes.

The successful candidate will hold, or be willing to work towards, an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, and will have experience in an adult social care setting. A commitment to promoting independence, dignity, and anti-discriminatory practice is essential. Manual handling will form part of the role, including support with therapeutic activities such as hydro and rebound therapy.

An Enhanced DBS check (Adult Workforce and Adult Barred List) is required. The role is based at 106 Townsend Lane, Liverpool, L6 0BB, at a rate of £14.93–£19.34 per hour, starting 20 July 2026. To find out more or express your interest, please get in touch.
