Please be aware this is a Long Term Temporary post to start ASAP.

We are seeking 2 x funding officers to join our Early Start and Families Services at Barnsley MBC to ensure the smooth operation of our early years funding provider payments system. The role will involve working as a part of a team to deliver the efficient processing of early years funding payments to providers. This will include working with our internal colleagues and providers to support with use of the system and any queries.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and operation of policies and procedures relating to the management of early years entitlements funding including payment portal.

• Provide professional advice and guidance to a wide range of audiences including internal and external agencies. This includes advice to be provided in writing and through training sessions.

• Assist in the interpretation of legislation and the implementation of appropriate procedures and policies and comply with local and national reporting requirements such as completing census reporting.

• Processing of payments on the portal in line with the council’s financial procedures.

• Assist in the undertaking of audits of claims submitted by Private, Voluntary and Independent providers.

• Assist ensuring that all processes are clearly documented. • Assist in the planning, organisation and submission to deadlines, statutory and non-statutory government returns as required.

• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade as requested by management.

You must have:

  • Post qualified experience.
  • Enhanced DBS/Update service.
  • References required for the last 5 years of employment.
