Childrens Team Manager – Children’s Social Work Team – #5304800

Job Description

An experienced Team Manager is sought to provide short-term cover within a busy Children’s Social Work Team in Durham, managing a complex caseload spanning safeguarding, Public Law Outline (PLO), care proceedings, court work, and Child Protection and Children in Need planning. You will provide day-to-day management and supervision to social workers and family workers, oversee case quality and statutory compliance, and ensure assessments, plans, reports and court documentation are completed within timescales. The role involves chairing and contributing to legal planning meetings, strategy discussions and case direction meetings, providing robust case oversight and risk-based decision-making, and supporting staff development through supervision, coaching and reflective practice. You will work closely with partner agencies, legal services, IROs and senior leaders to keep children’s voices central to planning and achieve positive outcomes. Social Work England registration and significant frontline management experience within children’s services are required.
