*Childrens Advanced Practitioner – Assessment and Duty Team – #000B62551

Job Description

An exciting opportunity for an Advanced Practitioner to join one of Barnsley’s four Assessment Teams, co-located with police at Wombwell Police Station. You’ll complete high-quality assessments with children and families within 40 working days, working collaboratively to determine the right intervention, whether closing to Children’s Social Care, transferring to Early Help or long-term teams, or short-term CIN planning. Teams rotate a week on duty followed by three weeks off duty completing assessments and plans. You’ll need significant post-qualifying experience in statutory children’s social work, experience delivering reflective supervision, and a track record mentoring students, NQSWs or colleagues, with up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and procedures. In return you’ll join a supportive, nurturing senior management team offering manageable caseloads, quality supervision and flexible/hybrid working (minimum 3 days in office, 5 days during duty weeks).
