Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Practitioner to join Birmingham Children’s Trust, providing a lead role in improving the quality of professional social work practice across the full case work cycle for children, young people and their families. You will hold a complex caseload, undertake complex casework, and provide technical and professional expertise, coaching and mentoring to less experienced social workers within the team.

Key responsibilities include delivering a needs-led, professional social work service in line with legislative requirements and best practice, providing quality assurance across colleagues’ work, promoting effective partnership working with service users and other agencies, and contributing to performance reporting. You will actively participate in training and development, represent the department in meetings, and support the Team Manager with other duties as required.

Candidates must be a qualified, registered Social Worker with strong post-qualification experience and a proven track record managing complex children and families casework. This is a rewarding role for an experienced practitioner looking to develop their leadership and mentoring skills within a children’s social care setting.
