Job Description

Sunderland Children’s Services is seeking a Child and Family Worker to join the Children With Disabilities service, based at the Sandhill Centre. This is an unqualified social care role supporting children with disabilities and their families with practical, emotional and developmental support as part of a wider team. Duties will include direct work with children and families, contributing to plans and reviews, and liaising with other professionals involved in the child’s care. Suitable candidates will have experience working with children with disabilities or in a similar family support setting, along with strong communication and record-keeping skills. This is a temporary assignment running from September 2026 to March 2027, paying £20.33 per hour.
