Job Description

Wirral MBC is seeking an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer to chair Child Protection Conferences and provide robust independent oversight of care planning for looked after children. You will produce and update child protection plans, coordinate investigations, and quality assure and audit plans to ensure risks are minimised and best practice achieved. Drawing on a strong children’s social care background and previous Team Manager level experience, you will apply specialist knowledge of child protection procedures, practice and legislation. You will build and maintain strong professional relationships across multi-agency partners, challenging respectfully and implementing plans creatively and progressively, always keeping the child’s voice central to decision-making. A qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration, you will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
