Job Description
Knowsley Children’s Services is seeking an experienced Childrens Team Manager to lead the Help and Protect team, covering Child In Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) work, based at Nutgrove Villa, Huyton, Merseyside. Rate: £28.00–£36.82 per hour. Start date: 9 October 2026.
Knowsley’s Children’s Social Care (CSC) department is on an active improvement journey, with significant Council investment, an ambitious new leadership team, and a genuine commitment to reaching ‘good’ and beyond. This is a pivotal moment to join a smaller local authority where your contribution will be visible and valued.
You will lead, direct, and motivate a Child Protection team, overseeing manageable caseloads, completing staff supervision, and managing resources effectively. The authority offers hybrid working, flexible arrangements, and a supportive, inclusive culture where staff feel recognised and listened to.
To be considered you must be a qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England, with substantial experience in children’s social care — including a proven track record of managing staff, evidential supervisory experience, and a strong grounding in childcare legislation and social work principles.
If you are ready to help shape the future of children’s services in Knowsley and make a real difference to children, young people, and their families, please get in touch today.
