Job Description

Conwy County Borough Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join their Older People & Hospital Social Work Services on a short-term locum basis, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at Abergele Clinic, Market Street, Abergele, LL22 7BP.

This is an office-based role within Conwy County, and candidates must be able to commute to the working location. The assignment is expected to last approximately 12 weeks with potential for extension. The rate of pay is £28.01–£36.69 per hour.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality social work to older people deemed vulnerable or in need of support, working collaboratively with citizens, carers, and families to promote resilience and independence, and ensuring that individuals remain at the centre of decision-making regarding their lives and desired outcomes.

Key requirements:
• Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience
• Registered with Social Care Wales
• Proven experience working with older people and in hospital social work settings
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Competent with relevant technology and software
