Job Description
Trafford Council is seeking an experienced Family Hub Worker to join the Early Family Help service, Borough Wide across Trafford. This is a full-time, office-based temporary role running from 15 September to 21 November 2026, paying £16.96 per hour (umbrella rate £18.78).
Working within the Directorate for Education, Standards, Quality and Performance under the Head of Service for Early Years and Family Help, you will deliver early help support to children, young people, and families through Trafford’s integrated Family Hub model. The aim is to provide the right support at the right time using the least intrusive approaches, helping children grow up safe, happy, and able to fulfil their potential.
Key responsibilities include acting as a Key Worker with case management responsibilities, undertaking whole-family assessments, working in partnership with Health Visitors, Schools, Early Years providers, Housing, and Police, and delivering individual and group-work programmes. You will also support children and families with emerging developmental differences and SEND needs.
Candidates must hold a recognised Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (or equivalent combination of training and substantial experience) in early years, social care, health, SEND, or school settings. A full driving licence is required, and the role requires an Enhanced DBS check with the Children’s Barred List.
