Job Description

Middlesbrough Borough Council is seeking a qualified AMHP Social Worker to contribute to the delivery of an effective mental health social work service, improving the lives of residents across Middlesbrough.

Based at Fountain Court, TS1 9FT, you will participate on the duty AMHP rota and hold a small caseload. Your work will involve completing personalised assessments, clearly identifying needs within the context of each individual’s life, and listening to the voice of the adult. You will plan support that draws on informal and community-based provision alongside statutory services, and will work with adults to safeguard them from abuse and neglect.

The successful candidate will be a qualified AMHP Social Worker with experience of working with adults in statutory local authority mental health teams. Social Work England registration is essential.

This is a locum position based on-site at Fountain Court, Middlesbrough (TS1 9FT), paying £283.23 per hour, available from 2 August 2026. To be considered, please get in touch with your up-to-date CV and current availability.
