Job Description

Semester Recruitment is seeking a qualified Social Work Manager for Newcastle City Council, based at Westgate Community College, NE4 9LU. This role sits within the Children in Care and Care Leavers team, offering an opportunity to lead and manage social work practice for looked-after children and young people transitioning from care.

The position is available from 2 August 2026 on an ongoing basis, paying £36.61 per hour via the Comensura framework.

Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Managerial experience within children’s services, particularly in looked-after children or leaving care settings, is essential.
