Job Description
Somerset Council is seeking an experienced Team Leader for its Family Intervention Service, based in Bridgwater (TA6 4RL). This is a locum opportunity available from 17 August 2026 until 31 July 2027, paying between £30.67 and £42.00 per hour via Prism.
This is a large, dynamic team operating within the family help context, working with children and families presenting with a range of complex needs to prevent escalation to statutory children’s social care. As Team Leader you will line manage a team of intervention workers, triage and review new families and cases, oversee practice and performance, and ensure effective implementation of the assess, plan and review cycle. You will engage directly with staff, management, families, and multi-agency partners, providing oversight, leadership, and informed risk-management decisions to progress positive outcomes and reduce risk and need.
The team has a rich and varied professional heritage and welcomes applications from leaders and aspiring managers from across children’s services who can hit the ground running. Strong experience in family help, early intervention, or complex family casework is essential, along with proven line management capability.
Interviews are held on an ad hoc basis. If you have the skills and drive to lead this team and make a meaningful difference for children and families in Somerset, please get in touch without delay.
