Job Description

Semester Recruitment is working with Newcastle City Council to source an experienced Adults Social Worker for the Adult Social CarePoint team, based at Westgate Community College, Newcastle (NE4 9LU).

This is an initial 4-week agency assignment at £27.56 per hour, starting 27 July 2026, supporting front-door social care activity in Newcastle.

The role involves working at the front door of adult social care, supporting carers and completing carers assessments, and operating within a fast-paced social work team environment. The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act.

Requirements:
– Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
– Experience working in adult social care settings
– Knowledge and understanding of the Care Act
– Experience completing carers assessments
– Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act
– Ability to work at pace in a busy front-line team
