Job Description

Wellburn Care Homes is recruiting a Care Assistant for day duty at their residential care home in Wigginton, North Yorkshire (YO32). Paying £12.71–£16.13 per hour, this is an ongoing role starting 12 July 2026.

As a Care Assistant you will provide personal care and practical support to elderly and disabled residents, respecting their dignity and promoting independence. Key duties include assisting with dressing, washing, bathing and personal hygiene; supporting residents with mobility and the use of disability aids; applying practical interventions for dementia or behavioural needs; supporting residents at mealtimes; maintaining a clean and safe environment; monitoring and reporting changes in residents’ health or physical condition; reading and contributing to care plans; and helping to organise and participate in social activities and community visits.

The role requires flexibility across rostered shifts including weekends, and occasional night cover. You should be physically fit, patient, caring, and committed to the rights of elderly and disabled people to live with dignity.
