Job Description
Bolton Council is seeking an experienced Childrens Social Worker to join the Integrated Front Door (IFD) team, based at Castle Hill and working across the borough. This is a full-time, office-based locum post running from 10 August to 30 October 2026, paying £37 per hour for 37 hours per week.
The role sits at the front door of children’s services, delivering a purposeful statutory duty service to children, families, and partner agencies. Day-to-day responsibilities include screening referrals, contributing to front-door duty provision, gathering information to determine whether Section 47 (Child Protection) enquiries are required or whether a children and family needs assessment is needed, and providing a duty service to all office visitors. Candidates must be comfortable with a fully office-based requirement in Bolton.
Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Five years of references are required, employment gaps will be checked, and a DBS will be requested for any candidate offered a post. Suppliers must complete the DfE Recommendation Compliance Questions and attach the file to the candidate record prior to submission — applications without this will not be progressed.
Free on-site parking is available. To be considered for this opportunity, please get in touch promptly given the August start date.
