Job Description
London Borough of Bexley is seeking an experienced Childrens Social Worker to join its LAC, Placements, and Specialist Services team, based at Civic Offices, Bexleyheath, DA6 7AT. The role is offered on a locum basis at £28.04–£38.18 per hour, commencing 15 June 2026.
You will be an experienced practitioner with a minimum of two years’ post-qualifying experience, working with children in care and their families to achieve long-term permanence. Court-involved work is a strong feature of this role.
Alongside your direct caseload, you will mentor and support less experienced colleagues through advice, guidance, and occasional joint visits or meetings. Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and coordinate across professional networks are essential.
Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification, be registered with Social Work England, and have demonstrable post-qualifying experience in a children’s social care setting.
