Job Description
Bolton Council is seeking a Childrens Advanced Practitioner to lead quality assurance activity across children’s social care services in Bolton (BL2 2JW). This is a full-time interim role (37 hours per week), running from 7 July to 11 September 2026, paying £40 per hour.
The postholder will improve and influence social care practice across the Directorate by undertaking and coaching others to undertake audits, dip sampling, and joint learning forums. Working within a relational and restorative practice framework, you will embed practice standards, track case file audit recommendations, collect feedback from children and families, and contribute to inspection preparation. You will also provide coaching to practitioners to build a shared understanding of audit purpose and quality.
Candidates must hold a recognised Social Work qualification, be registered with Social Work England, and have at least three years’ post-qualification experience in statutory children’s social work, ideally with supervisory experience. Familiarity with the ILACS framework and the ability to apply relational and restorative approaches are essential. Advanced IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel) are required.
Hybrid working is in place, but candidates must be able to work from the Bolton office to meet service needs. Free on-site parking is available.
