May 28, 2026
£30 - £30 / hour

Job Description

Trafford Council is recruiting an experienced Adults Social Worker to join their integrated community service within the West Neighbourhood Team, based at Talbot Road, Manchester (M32 0TH). The role covers borough-wide work as required and supports the wider division.

You will hold a caseload working with adults across a range of situations including long-term conditions, dementia, hoarding, and drug and alcohol issues. A significant part of the role involves strengths-based, person-centred social work assessments and interventions, securing appropriate funding in line with the Reshaping Trafford Policy, and responding to safeguarding enquiries under the Care Act and local procedures.

You will contribute to a duty rota responding to urgent crisis situations, build effective multi-disciplinary relationships across health and social care, and support colleagues in managing the team’s shared workload.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience in a statutory adults service — NQSWs and ASYEs are not being considered for this role. Social Work England registration is essential.

Rate: £30 per hour. Contract: 20 June 2026 to 31 October 2026.
