Job Description

An experienced Occupational Therapist is sought to join Barnet Council’s Adult Social Care team in Colindale, London (NW9), on an ongoing interim basis at £29.06–£39.93 per hour via Prism, starting 15 June 2026.

This role focuses on enabling independence and safety for adults in the community through major and minor housing adaptations, manual handling assessments, and equipment provision. You will complete comprehensive functional assessments, triage and screen incoming referrals, and design solutions such as level-access showers, stairlifts, and ramps that transform service users’ lives at home.

Key responsibilities include prescribing and arranging equipment, undertaking manual handling risk assessments, liaising with contractors, housing teams, and grants officers for adaptation works, and maintaining accurate case records and reports for funding applications and safeguarding processes. You will contribute to service development and represent the service professionally within a multi-disciplinary setting.

Candidates must be HCPC-registered Occupational Therapists with proven community-based social care experience, knowledge of Disabled Facilities Grants and adaptation legislation, and the ability to use electronic case management systems.
