Job Description

Denbighshire County Council is seeking a Wellbeing and Resilience Coach to join the Working Denbighshire team, based in Rhyl (LL18 3AH). This is a Grade 6 role within the Housing and Communities service, sitting within the Working Denbighshire employability and anti-poverty framework.

Working closely with Employment and Skills Mentors and the wider Working Denbighshire team, you will provide person-centred, strengths-based coaching to participants who face complex barriers to employment and training. Your work will combine one-to-one and group sessions focused on improving mental and emotional wellbeing, building confidence, motivation, self-esteem, and resilience, enabling participants to engage with employability support and move towards sustainable employment.

Key responsibilities include delivering early-intervention wellbeing support, identifying and implementing coaching tools and techniques, delivering informal training on positive mental health and physical wellbeing, signposting to relevant statutory and voluntary services, maintaining detailed records in line with UK and Welsh Government funding requirements, and completing risk assessments in accordance with safeguarding procedures.

Essential requirements include a relevant qualification (or willingness to work towards one) in coaching, life skills, or wellbeing; experience of community-based support with complex-needs individuals; strong IT and record-keeping skills; and willingness to travel across Denbighshire with occasional evenings and weekends. Welsh language skills are desirable. Start date 8 June 2026.
