Job Description

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Through Care Team, based at Seafield House, Redcar (TS10). This is an agency role paying £31.74 per hour, available from 1 May 2026.

The Through Care Team supports children and young people in care, helping them achieve safe, stable transitions into adulthood. You will carry a caseload of looked-after children and care leavers, providing high-quality, child-centred practice rooted in relationship-based approaches.

Key responsibilities include assessment and care planning, multi-agency working, safeguarding, and fulfilling corporate parenting responsibilities. You will be expected to work with confidence and autonomy whilst maintaining strong practice standards.

Essential requirements: a recognised social work qualification, active Social Work England registration, and demonstrable experience in children’s services — particularly with looked-after children or leaving care.
