Job Description

Trafford Council is seeking experienced Adults Social Workers to join its integrated community service within the Central Neighbourhood Team, based at Sale Waterside, Greater Manchester. This is a locum opportunity paying £30 per hour, running from 15 June to 30 August 2026.

Working within a busy and challenging community-based environment, you will hold a varied caseload of adults presenting with a range of needs including long-term conditions, dementia, hoarding, drug and alcohol misuse, and safeguarding concerns. A significant part of your role will involve conducting outcomes-focused, strengths-based assessments and interventions, securing appropriate funding in line with the Reshaping Trafford Policy, and responding to safeguarding enquiries in accordance with the Care Act and local procedures.

You will build effective professional relationships across health and social care disciplines, contribute to a duty rota responding to urgent crisis situations, and support colleagues in managing the team’s collective workload.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with a minimum of three years’ post-qualifying experience in a statutory adult social care setting. You will be committed to strengths-based practice, peer learning, and safeguarding the vulnerable adult population.
