Job Description
Are you a confident communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is happy to work evenings, overnight, and weekends? Lincolnshire County Council’s Out of Hours Team is seeking a Customer Service Advisor to serve as the first point of contact for emergency calls across Adult’s and Children’s Social Care services.
Based at Lancaster House in Lincoln city centre, you will handle sensitive, high-priority calls from members of the public, police, and health professionals, gathering and processing information accurately and efficiently. Beyond social care, you will also field enquiries relating to District Council services such as housing repairs, as well as Libraries and Heritage services — offering genuine variety in your day-to-day work.
This is a 20-hour, 12-week contract. Shifts cover overnight (midnight to 8am), evenings, and weekends including all public holidays. Core hours are Monday to Thursday 17:30–08:00 and Friday to Monday 17:30–08:00. The role pays between £12.76 and £16.49 per hour.
The successful candidate will bring excellent customer service skills, strong verbal and written communication, a calm and professional manner when handling sensitive matters, and solid IT competency including Microsoft Office and Windows. Flexibility to work across the full shift pattern is essential.
In return, you will receive a full induction, ongoing training, and agile working opportunities (a blend of office and home working) once fully established in the role.
If you are ready to play a vital role in supporting Lincolnshire residents when it matters most, apply today.
