Job Description
Sefton MBC are seeking a Social Care Qualified Youth Justice Case Manager to join their Youth Justice Service, based at Trinity Road, Bootle (L20 3NJ). The role is available from 18 May 2026 on an ongoing interim basis, paying £20.88–£27.35 per hour via Prism.
Working as part of Sefton’s multi-agency Youth Justice Service, you will carry a caseload of children and young people involved in or at risk of entering the criminal justice system. Your focus will be on safeguarding, risk management, preventing offending, and promoting the welfare and long-term outcomes of the young people you work with. You will devise and deliver intervention plans, manage risk of serious harm, ensure sentences are appropriately served, and work collaboratively with partner agencies to secure the best outcomes for children.
You may also be responsible for supervising student placements.
Candidates must hold a recognised professional qualification in one of the following: Social Work, Diploma in Probation Studies, Dip HE Youth & Community, or a relevant youth/criminal justice degree. Significant post-qualification experience in assessing and analysing the needs of children and families is essential, as is substantial knowledge of youth justice legislation, safeguarding practice, and experience engaging with hard-to-reach young people and families.
