Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Home and Continuing Education Service at Wirral Council, an Alternative Provision based at Joseph Paxton Campus in Claughton Village, supporting children whose medical needs prevent them from attending mainstream school.

This is a varied and rewarding role in which you will provide learning support across classrooms and undertake engagement work with pupils. Children are taught both on site and in their homes, in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, depending on individual needs. The role will involve flexible hours tailored around a pupil who requires dedicated one-to-one support.

Key responsibilities include:
– Delivering targeted learning support within a classroom and community setting
– Working flexibly across KS2 and KS3/4 year groups
– Supporting pupils with medical needs in small group and one-to-one environments
– Contributing to pupil engagement and wellbeing as part of a committed team

You will be joining a friendly, dedicated team that places the individual needs of each child at the heart of everything it does. The service operates with a flexible working pattern to best meet pupils’ requirements.

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this post. Candidates should hold a relevant Level 2 qualification and demonstrate enthusiasm, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to supporting children with additional needs.
