Job Description
Semester Recruitment is seeking a Social Care Officer for Vale of Glamorgan Council, based at Gladstone Road, Barry (CF63 1NH). This is a non-qualified children’s social care role paying £14.17–£18.35 per hour via Prism, with a start date of 8 June 2026.
Working within children’s services, you will manage a caseload providing high-quality support to children, young people, and their families and carers. Key responsibilities include undertaking assessments and Care and Support Plans in line with the Social Services and Well-Being (Wales) Act, contributing to Child Protection case management under supervisor guidance, supervising contact visits, and participating in emergency duty rotas as required.
You will work in partnership with service users, carers, and multi-agency professionals, maintaining accurate records on WCCIS and ensuring compliance with Wales Safeguarding Procedures and Vale of Glamorgan Council policies. A commitment to continuous professional development and active participation in supervision and appraisal processes is expected.
