Job Description

Liverpool City Council is seeking two Personal Advisors to join their Leaving Care Team, based at Parklands, Speke, L24. This is a full-time locum role at £22.09 per hour (Ltd) for 35 hours per week, with local travel across Liverpool to meet with young people.

As a Personal Advisor, you will work with young people aged 16 and over who are leaving or have left the care system, supporting them to build the skills, confidence, and networks they need for independent living. Your caseload will span emotional and practical support, transition planning, accommodation sourcing, and signposting to education, training, and employment opportunities.

You will work in close partnership with the Permanence Service and a wide range of multi-agency partners to deliver tailored, outcome-focused support. A sound knowledge of relevant children’s legislation, policies, and financial entitlements for care leavers is essential.

Candidates must hold at least a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate strong direct experience working with vulnerable children and young people within or leaving the care system. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the drive to make a genuine, lasting difference to young people’s futures.
