Job Description
Sefton MBC is seeking a Personal Advisor to join their Children’s Social Care Leaving Care service, based in Bootle (L20 3NJ). This is a non-qualified role paying £17.37–£22.68 per hour, available from 17 August 2026 via Prism.
You will hold an allocated caseload of care leavers, providing practical advice and support across accommodation, financial capability, education, training, employment, and health and well-being. A key part of the role involves participating in the assessment, preparation, monitoring, and review of Pathway Plans, maintaining a person-centred approach that empowers young people and their families.
Day-to-day responsibilities include facilitating and supervising family contact, co-ordinating services, maintaining accurate and timely case records on ICS, and identifying and reporting safeguarding concerns through the appropriate management structure. You will represent the service at reviews and case conferences, and work in partnership with statutory, voluntary, and community organisations across agency boundaries.
Candidates will have experience of working with care leavers or young people leaving care, a sound understanding of Pathway Planning, and a commitment to promoting positive outcomes for young people. Accurate data entry, knowledge of data protection obligations, and the ability to manage risk and safeguarding concerns are essential.
