Childrens Social Work Manager – Child Protection & LADO – #5302016
Job Description
North Tyneside Council is seeking an experienced Childrens Social Work Manager to undertake a dual CP Chair and LADO function within its children’s social care service, based at Quadrant East, Wallsend (NE27 0BY). Hybrid working arrangements are available.
In the CP Chair capacity, you will chair Initial Child Protection Conferences (ICPCs) and Review Child Protection Conferences, liaising with multi-agency professionals to analyse risk, determine appropriate care planning, and monitor progress against plans.
As LADO, you will uphold all statutory responsibilities defined within Working Together to Safeguard Children — considering and responding to allegations against professionals who work with children, organising and chairing strategy and allegations-management meetings, facilitating information sharing across agencies, and monitoring ongoing investigations to ensure appropriate progress and follow-up.
Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Substantial post-qualifying experience in children’s safeguarding, CP conference chairing, and/or LADO work is essential.
