Job Description

Manchester City Council is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join its Rehousing Team, based at The Housing Office on Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester (M8 9NW). This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of two office days per week, with community travel across Greater Manchester on remaining days.

Working within the GM Collaboration, you will carry out medical assessments for housing priority, assess individuals in their own homes, and match applicants to suitable adapted properties. You will manage a complex caseload, produce high-quality reports, and provide specialist advice on rehousing options — supporting both children and adults to secure housing outcomes that meet their needs.

Key responsibilities include home visits to assess eligibility for housing priority and adaptations, undertaking viewings with applicants to adapted homes, managing complex cases end-to-end, and delivering joined-up advice and planning to achieve positive rehousing outcomes for Manchester residents.

The role runs from 3 August to 13 November 2026 at a rate of £35 per hour. A background in housing adaptations is essential.
