Job Description

Bromley Council is seeking a qualified Nursery Practitioner to join the Early Years Team based in Penge, SE20, on a temporary basis from 14 September 2026. The rate is £98.57–£129.62 per day via Prism.

Working within a local authority day nursery, you will plan, implement and evaluate activities across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), acting as a key person for an assigned group of children. Responsibilities include maintaining children’s Learning Journals, carrying out regular observations and risk assessments, supporting children’s learning at home through parent/carer partnerships, and attending safeguarding training and multi-agency meetings as required.

You will promote a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment that respects each child’s dietary, cultural, personal and medical needs, and ensure safeguarding concerns are reported, recorded and monitored in line with council policy.

Candidates must hold a recognised Level 3 or above childcare qualification, a Paediatric First Aid Certificate, and be available to work flexibly between 07:45 and 18:15 Monday to Friday. An enhanced DBS check is required.
