Achieving for Children is seeking an Information Governance Support Officer to join its Strategy and Insights Service, based at 44 York Street, Twickenham (TW1 3BW). This is a temporary role starting 16 July 2026, sourced via Prism.
The Information Governance Team manages compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 across all of Achieving for Children’s operational areas. Reporting to the Head of Information Governance and Policy, the post holder will serve as the first point of contact for Freedom of Information (FOI) and Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs).
Key responsibilities include coordinating and processing FOI requests in line with legal deadlines; processing DSARs under UK GDPR including redaction and report preparation; providing advice and guidance to colleagues on information governance matters; supporting the development and implementation of IG policies, procedures, and staff training; and maintaining accurate records of all requests received.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing deadlines and exercise sound judgement independently. Experience in a children’s services or health environment is desirable. GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics is also desirable.
