Job Description
Kirklees Council is seeking a Housing Assistant to join the Empty Homes Team in Huddersfield, facilitating the letting of Council homes on a temporary basis from 1 June to 27 November 2026.
This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible working hours between 8am and 6pm to suit service needs. The role operates on a hybrid basis — four days working from home with one day in the office (Thursdays) at Flint Street, Huddersfield.
Key responsibilities include managing the ending of tenancies and return of keys, monitoring repair progress on vacant properties to ensure timely advertising, allocating properties in accordance with the Council’s Allocation Policy, and working with partners such as the Accessible Homes Team to ensure appropriate use of adapted properties.
