An opportunity has risen for an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer to join the Safeguarding and reviewing Unit in Wakefield.

The Safeguarding and Review Unit has an experienced and knowledgeable team of professionals that chair Child Protection Conferences, Child in Care Reviews, LADO, Supervision Order reviews and Foster Carer Reviews within Wakefield. The service works closely with internal and external partners to support the achievement of positive outcomes for children and young people in their journey through statutory services in Wakefield.

As a team we are working to develop a culture of restorative practice both within the team and with the families we work with. This is an opportunity to influence social work practice through supportive links with teams and collaborative quality assurance and audit work with social workers. 

Please be aware this is a Long Term Temporary post to start ASAP.

You must have:

  • A professional qualification in social work and experience of working with Children’s

  • Social Work England registration.

  • Post qualified experience.

  • Enhanced DBS/Update service.

  • References required for the last 5 years of employment.
