Job Description
Vale of Glamorgan Council is recruiting an Employment Mentor to support the delivery of Communities for Work Plus (CFW+), a Welsh Government funded employability programme operating under the Vale Employability brand, based at Palmerston Education Centre, Barry.
You will carry a caseload of clients who are not in employment, providing holistic, enabling job search support and mentoring. Working collaboratively, you will develop comprehensive individual action plans, undertake assessments and regular reviews, and support clients to address broad barriers to work — including access to training, education, and development opportunities.
Key responsibilities include involvement in the CFW+ Triage Process, identifying and delivering training for individuals and groups, maintaining accurate records on the CFW+ database, and ensuring all data is handled in line with Information Sharing Protocols. You will also build links with residents, private sector employers, voluntary and statutory agencies, and contribute to developing the programme across the Vale of Glamorgan.
The role requires flexibility to work from various locations across the Vale. You must adhere to the Council’s Corporate Safeguarding Policy and will be required to complete safeguarding training.
