Job Description
Herefordshire Council is seeking a Delivery and Improvement Officer to join its Community Wellbeing Directorate on a 3–6 month interim basis, based at Plough Lane, Hereford with hybrid working available.
This is a full-time (37 hours per week) role paying £16.62 per hour PAYE, with a start date of 13 July 2026.
You will play a central role in coordinating delivery of the Community Wellbeing Transformation Strategy, supporting planning, governance, reporting, risk management, and continuous improvement activity across a range of programmes — including adult social care. Day-to-day you will work closely with Senior Responsible Officers to track progress and outcomes, develop reports and briefings, coordinate programme documentation, and engage with stakeholders across services to drive improvement.
Ideal candidates will have demonstrable experience in a fast-paced project or programme environment, with strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Knowledge of project management approaches and governance frameworks is essential. Experience within local government or adult social care would be a significant advantage.
This is a genuine opportunity to contribute to meaningful service transformation that improves outcomes for residents across Herefordshire.
