Job Description

Are you a highly motivated, innovative Team Manager passionate about supporting children and families? Wrexham County Borough Council is recruiting a Team Manager for its Family Support Team (FST) — a social work team supporting children and families open to Children’s Social Care.

The FST holds responsibility for Care and Support Plans, Child Protection Plans, Public Law Outline work, and taking cases to the first court hearing, providing robust support to families to ensure the best outcomes for children in Wrexham.

You will be responsible for a staff team of 15 Social Workers, 3 Social Care Assessors, and 3 Assistant Team Managers, providing leadership that helps the team develop, grow, and keep children safe.

The successful candidate will be a Social Work England registered qualified social worker with demonstrable team management experience in a children’s social care setting, including child protection and court work.

This is a locum post based at 31 Chester Street, Wrexham, LL13 8BG, paying £35.69–£47.84 per hour via Prism, with a start date of 31 July 2026. To find out more or to be considered for this role, please get in touch with the team today.
