Job Description
Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced interim Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team Leader to cover one of its CWD teams until a permanent appointment joins in the autumn.
In this role you will hold responsibility for a team of six social workers and two short breaks co-ordinators, providing relational, ambitious leadership focused on achieving the best outcomes for disabled children. You will be confident making complex safeguarding decisions for children with disabilities and able to adapt quickly to local processes.
The post is based at Piccadilly, Stockport (SK1 3XE), with an expectation of three to four days in the office and one to two days working from home per week.
The role runs from 27 July 2026 to 13 October 2026 at £40 per hour. A five-year employment reference check and verification of any relevant qualifications are required. Suppliers must complete the DfE Recommendation Compliance Questions and attach the completed file to the candidate record prior to submission — applications without this will not progress.
