Job Description

Gateshead Council is seeking a qualified Advanced Practitioner to join its Disabled Children Team, based at the Civic Centre, NE8 1HH. This is a locum role paying £34.45 per hour, available from 27 July 2026.

The role involves completing assessments, reviewing plans, and developing support plans for disabled children and their families. Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS would be advantageous, though training can be provided.

Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Experience working with children with disabilities is essential.
