Job Description
An excellent opportunity to join Wakefield’s Child Exploitation and Missing Service as a Team Manager on an interim basis, based at Headquarters, Havertop Lane, Normanton, West Yorkshire (WF6 1FD). The role runs from 20 July to 28 September 2026 at £40 per hour via XMS.
You will lead a team of skilled practitioners working with children and young people at risk of, or experiencing, exploitation and missing episodes. Key responsibilities include providing supervision and oversight of complex casework, driving high-quality practice in risk assessment, safety planning and intervention delivery, and leading coordinated multi-agency responses. You will chair meetings and contribute to complex decision-making forums, ensuring practice is grounded in contextual safeguarding and trauma-informed approaches. You will also support identification of emerging risks and community hotspots, working with partners to disrupt exploitation and reduce missing episodes.
Applicants must be qualified and registered Social Workers with demonstrable management and leadership experience, a strong track record in complex casework, and significant experience of multi-agency exploitation frameworks including MACE. The successful candidate will be required to undergo Police vetting. Hybrid working will be considered and discussed at interview.
