Job Description

Cheshire East Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead the Care Leavers Team based at Delamere House, Crewe. This is a pivotal leadership role managing a team of 8 Personal Advisors who support young people aged 16–25 through the transition to adulthood.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of Personal Advisors, ensuring high-quality support and positive outcomes for care leavers. The role requires strong leadership skills, a sound understanding of leaving care legislation and corporate parenting responsibilities, and a commitment to improving life chances for young people.

The position is offered on a temporary basis at £45.00 per hour, starting 10 August 2026. The working pattern requires a minimum of 3 days per week in the office at Delamere House, Crewe (CW1 2JZ). An Enhanced DBS check covering both children’s and adults barred lists is required.

Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Substantial post-qualifying experience in children’s services, including experience of managing or supervising practitioners working with care leavers or looked-after young people, is essential.
