Job Description

Manchester City Council (GM Collaboration) is seeking a Registered Qualified Social Worker to join its children and families frontline services, based at Longsight District Office, Stockport Road, Manchester (M12 4LL). This is a temporary role running from 15 June to 14 September 2026 at £35 per hour.

The authority is rated Outstanding (2025) and offers free parking outside the office, an average caseload of around 15 per social worker, a strong training offer, and good standards of supervision and support.

You will hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. You will bring frontline experience working with children and young families across child in need, child protection, and looked-after children. Experience of pre-proceedings, public and private law proceedings, and adoption proceedings is required. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
